![]() ![]() What’s the latest version of the PCSX2 emulator? People will tell you that it’s a “grey legal area.” It’s not. Even if that weren’t the case, there’s so many PS2 BIOS versions that you’d have to be very careful to download only the one you have. It is illegal, even if you own a PS2 of your own. Theoretically yes, but if you manage to extract the BIOS from your own PS2 you’d still be infringing copyright law because while the PS2 is yours, the software within it (firmware/BIOS) is still protected in the same way gaming software (ROMs as they’re popularly known on the internet) is protected by copyright law. PCSX2, as most other emulators, such as PS1 Emulators Requires you to own the Actual Console to Legally Dump the Bios for it, and Is Not a Replacement For the Actual Console or to be used as a Pirating tool. Single-click the “Set Bios Directory” button on the bottom of the configuration window.
